Andrew Karnavas is a copywriter, technical writer, fiction writer and songwriter. With a combined artistic and scientific background, at Global Writes Andrew has written copy for small business web sites, ghostwritten a business coaching book, and created technical documents for many software applications as a technical writer. He regularly contributes posts related to social media to the GlobalWrites blog and enjoys helping companies and individuals distill their message. In addition to writing, Andrew edits audio for promotional videos and music.
After graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a BA in English, minors in Italian and Chemistry, and the Edith Garber Krotinger prize for excellence in creative writing, Andrew moved to Houston and worked as a clinical research coordinator at UT Health Science Center. He interviewed patients, managed technical data and edited medical manuscripts for world-renowned physicians. Opting to decline acceptance to medical school to pursue songwriting, Andrew has produced six albums in a variety of genres including Americana, Blues, Rock, and Children’s music. He formed Yawp Records, wrote press releases and handled PR campaigns, merchandising and tour management for his three projects. In 2011, Andrew won the first annual Houston Web Award for “Best Use of Twitter to Promote a Personal Brand.”
He has been a featured performer at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and teaches elementary school children how to write through the Writers in the Schools program (WITS). His first book, Ice Walk, is an unpublished suspense/mystery novel.
