Body of Work

It’s been a busy summer, folks! Between working hard on the needs assessment for GADAK, I’ve been doing work for IDI and Foraker Design, which included travel to Boulder, CO. I also went to Seattle to visit with a few of my old clients at Microsoft and Idea Seattle. Also, this summer Ink Publishing signed me up for another year of compiling the AirTran Airways Go Houston Destination Guide. Up until August, I continued work with WCities.com but will be taking a break for a couple of months due to my travel and work schedule. I’ll be starting back up with them this Oct./Nov. Unfortunately, I also had to discontinue my volunteer work with Houston Interactive Marketing Association (HiMA). I should be wrapping up my work with GADAK by the end of September and working in earnest in Oct. on Foraker.com’s redesign.

Working with GADAK Consulting to perform a technology needs assessment for one of their prominent public sector clients. By the end of this project, our recommendations are likely to positively impact millions of people. Changing the world…one client at a time. Oh yea!

I am now an active volunteer writer for the Houston interactive Marketing Association (HiMA), a collaborative, connected community of leaders in the Houston interactive industry. I am helping with all of their writing needs–from press releases to direct mail postcards to all of their e-mail communication to the membership.

Though only three years old, HiMA has monthly events and an annual conference that rivals even larger groups. The speaker line-ups include such luminaries of Web 2.0 that you might think you’re on the Left Coast rather than the Gulf Coast. In August, they will bring in Nita Rollins, co-author of The OPEN Brand for their monthly luncheon. In September, the keynote speaker for their annual conference Interactive Strategies ‘08: Secrets Exposed will be Tara Hunt, author of the soon-to-be-published The Whuffie Factor.
