We love WordPress here at GlobalWrites. It’s the platform our site is built on. It’s the platform most of our clients’ websites are built on. It’s easy to use, it’s super customizable, and it is free.
May 27 marked 10 years since Matt Mullenweg released WordPress to the world. One of the most important digital publishing tools in the history of the Internet, the world’s go-to content management system, now supports 66 million websites. And Mullenweg and his team aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.
“I was just blogging myself and I wanted better software,” Mullenweg said to CNN during a recent interview, when he was asked why he created the now-standard content management system.
Mullenweg wrote a blog to WordPress last week, reminiscing about his journey with the software. “You were cute before you became beautiful,” he gushes. If you want to join the celebration, WordPress is offering 10th anniversary t-shirts for a very low price in their online store.
We are gushing and celebrating right alongside you, Matt! We couldn’t imagine the Internet without WordPress. So thanks for creating your masterpiece. And thanks even more for making it free.
